Your face, your amazing, beautiful, characterful face. The first thing everybody sees and yet I feel a lot of us (including myself) don’t quite know how to care for it. I feel skincare is seen by many of us as unnecessary and that, especially us ladies, spend more money trying to cover up a skincare problem rather than investing in products to actually solve the issue.
I’m no expert so I’m just going to impart advice on what works for me and show you a few products I think are essential to take care of your skin.
First up is a good cleanser. The one I’ve recently been using and am raving about is this Burts Bees Intense Hydration cream cleanser. Not only does it smell out of this world but it gets all your makeup off, is super easy to use and your skin feels soft and refreshed afterwards. Personally I would recommend a cream cleanser as opposed to a foam one which I’ve also tried and I find cream ones to be a lot more effective and nourishing. If you wear makeup then I’d encourage you to make something like this part of your daily night time routine.
Next up you need a good moisturiser. This product really depends on your skin type as to what’s going to work best for you but I’ve been using this one by the body shop – the Seaweed Oil Control Cream because I have combination skin (oily and dry) and so I find this one moisturises lightly but doesn’t leave my face oily and overpowered.
Third on the list is a good nourishing lip balm. Male or female this should be essential! Personally I find myself reaching for this Burts Bees lip balm as I find it really moisturising and it’s made from 100% natural ingredients so you know you’re not putting any harmful chemicals on your lips. This is one of the reasons why I adore this brand because lots of their products are 99 or 100% natural but they’re also affordable and readily available.
I think these three products make a great start for a beginners skincare routine and with regular use will definitely lead to improved skin health. What are your favourite skincare products that you swear by? And would you be interested in a post about my night time routine?
Thanks always, Em x
